Billionaire Boy screenplay

FADE IN:

1 EXT.  URBAN CITY – EVENING <>

Silhouettes of two boys in a quiet side road.  The sun is beaming, with a cross-breeze of wind so the boys are messing about, enjoying the sun on this rare sunny day in London.

The image of the boys starts to FADE as we SUPER TITLES.  The title starts to become more prominent as the words ‘BILLIONAIRE BOY’ is now more focused. The title stays on the screen for a few more seconds before it FADES out.

As TITLES END the figures of the two boys reappear as they’re now walking and talking with murmurs accompanied by frequent outbursts of laughter leaving the two boys: caving over, falling to the ground in hysterics.

The camera switches from PANNING to now a POV/DOCUMENTARY EFFECT from the two boys. We now get a clearer focus on the boy being filmed; MYLES (mid-teens). There’s a constant smile on his face whilst he exchanges words and ‘banter’ with his friend.

The camera now turns to the boy behind it, filming Myles. FREDERICO (mid-teens) has a face which mirrors his friend. His face also shows a sense of admiration for Myles; one given to an older brother. Frederico was well dressed; new NAVY BLUE TRACKSUIT which was his prized possession.

During the introduction thus far, there is a non-digetic soundtrack being played [SECTION BOYZ – OI! MORE FIRE LIVE FROM 1XTRA]

Myles’ phone rings, it proclaims ‘NO CALLER ID’. Myles’ face drops from a beaming smile to an overwhelming flush of fear in his eyes. Frederico sees this. (The soundtrack now stops and you’re able to hear the words between the boys for the first time).

Frederico

‘Who’s that’?

Myles

No one man [he declines the call]

Frederico

Fam, you always do this

Myles

Because it’s always no one

Frederico

So when your phone rings no one is calling you yeah?

Myles

Fam, why you being like this for?

Frederico

Because you always treat me like this

Myles

Like what?

Frederico

Like I’m not man enough to know wagwarn

Myles

*cracks up in hysterics*

Frederico

What’s funny? [Temper begins to rise]

Myles

You said wagwarn *still laughing*

Frederico

Ah fuck off man [Begins to walk away]

Myles

Ah don’t be like that man [Goes to grab his arm]

Frederico

Don’t touch me  [slaps his arm away as his temper begins to flare]

Myles

Why you moving like this for Pablo?

Frederico

What’d you say to me? [Beginning to square up to Myles]

Myles

Move from me man, it’s not that deep [Turns away from Myles]

Frederico

And you wonder why Danielle moves with bare man now

 Myles

Say that again Jiménez [Squares up to Frederico]

Frederico

Don’t call me that

Myles

I SAID SAY IT AGAIN [Now shaking with anger as he speaks]

*a lengthy silence as their eyes are interlocked with one another*

The silence is interrupted with the shout of an “OI” in the distance. Both boys refuse to take their eyes off each other but gradually begin to turn around to find out whom the shout belonged to. The camera takes a CLOSE UP of the boys’ face as they realise who shouted at. This is followed by a simultaneous “Oh shit” escaping both boys mouth which is then followed by both swiftly turning and running away. The scene is then ended with both boys running through school gates and climbing over whilst the boys chasing them are caught.
